Read about what Doron uses for his gear and why. Amps- Mack amplifiers Mack amps has supplied me with a really cool little amp called " The Gem ". A four watt class A point to point amp with power scaling down to a quarter watt. To me this was the ideal studio amp. Based on my tone, I needed a big tonal size and not wattage to get the tones i was going for. www.mackamps.com Brax amplifiers I recently met up with the owners of Brax amps and explained what it was that i was missing in my sound for some of my new tunes. Being a huge Dumble amps fan. Brax amplifiers was the only way to go in order to achieve the playability and control i needed to finish some of my new tunes. "The Blues Master" gave me what I was looking for. A big clean sound with enough dynamic range that will allow me to attack the strings without the usual mud you get from attacking to hard. Brax amps invited me to their shop and showed me all kinds of amps that might do the job. Needless to say. It took all of five minutes to find the one. www.cepedals.com Black Heart amplifiers. Black Heart amps really made a difference on my approach as far as setting rhythm tones. I have recorded many different records and projects in the past. I never did get the rhythm sound right. I used two different heads on this record. "The Handsome Devil" & "The Little Giant" . I Love the way these amp respond to bottom end even at a low volume setting. It made all the difference in the world when it came to filling up the low end of the mix. www.blackhearteng.com Guitars- ![]() Flaxwood Guitars Over the years i have worked with some great guitar builders and companies. But this one takes the cake. I met Flaxwood guitars at the NAMM show and i just fell in love with their guitars. From the playability and sounds to the amazing look of their instruments. Trying to achieve a sound that will allow me to be unique and standout was not the easiest task in the world. Thanks to my Flaxwood Liekki with the legendary P90s. It makes things easier. Sustain is a hard thing to achieve when using a running your guitar through a clean channel. The technology provided by Flaxwood. Makes the guitar sing and ring for days on end. www.flaxwood.com Godin Guitars Through out my search for another unique guitar company, i had the pleasure of teaming up with Godin guitars and for all my acoustic sounds i use the Acousticaster. I have been lucky to find another guitar company that cares about having their own sound. Godin will be a sound on my future records that you will absolutely be able to recognize. I tend to use different guitars for different parts of the song. For example: I never use the same guitar for melody and rhythm. I would lean towards a guitar that has a different tonal characteristic than my main sounding guitar. My other guitars are- Tokai MIJ Strat style, customized 330 style guitar ( No name ) , Yamaha SLG100S. I do use other guitars for different applications, but rather not mention. They also look cool on my wall... Pedals- CE Pedals. Coming from Brax amplifiers this is a no brainer. I knew this pedal would sound killer. It is very rare that i would use any kind of gain with my signal these days. Put a FET pedal in front of me and i will find a reason to use it. This pedal just sounds big thick and juicy all at once. www.cepedals.com Xotic Pedals. Here is a pedal company that has been on my pedalboard for years. I pretty much use the RC booster on every single solo i have ever played. Cutting the gain down on the pedal allows me to just get a clean boost. The perfect pedal for any occasion. Strings- Wyres Strings. Wyres strings has helped me solve many different problems with my tone. I love sparkling sounding strings but i hate the way they feel. Playing Wyres really does sound and feels great. Specially after two weeks, when you know the string should lose some kind of tone but yet it still sounds like a new set. www.wyresstrings.com |
